Chelsea and Manchester United want £7m defender but his heart "beats for Arsenal"

By

Chelsea are ready to make a move for Stuttgart's Antonio Rudiger but the player would prefer a move to Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is also being monitored by Serie A champions Juventus. The centre back was already linked with the Italians two seasons ago but no agreement was reached back then.

And coach Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly showing interest in the youngster with Wolfsburg, Manchester United, Monaco, Porto and West Ham all ready to join the race to sign the German.

But Arsenal continue to be strong favourites to sign the player.

"I have always dreamed of the Premier League," Rudiger told Bild last year.

"I have been following Arsenal since the days of [Thierry] Henry and [Dennis] Bergkamp.

"I watch videos of Arsenal all the time on YouTube and I often wear the current Alexis Sanchez shirt.

"My heart beats for Arsenal."
