Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was happy but not satisfied after the 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers.
The Blues opened a nine-point gap at the top of the English Premier League table but the Portuguese believes his players were not at their very best against Harry Redknapp's side.
"It was a completely deserved victory, but not a good performance," Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"We had good periods, and some moments of good reaction to negative periods, but I didn't think we played our complete game as we normally do.
"It was my responsibility. I was not intense, they were not intense.
"But we deserved to win because we had lots of chances and Eden Hazard was a player who gave a fantastic performance, but in reality they were a team who had great defensive organisation.
"They made it very difficult for us but we have to play better. They changed their system and defended well.
"We couldn't score the third goal to win the game and that kept them in it too long.
"Harry [Redknapp] has a lot of experience and tried to close every way to the goal but I think if we play better, if you play consecutively well I think you win the game with different numbers but we had a fantastic reaction after they equalised.
"Rob Green kept them in the game because we had two or three very good chances to score the third goal and kill the game and I think Green kept them in the game until the final whistle."
