"They would be a club I would love to play for" - Arsenal target breaks silence amid rumours he will be a Gunner

By

Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu says he would be happy to join and play for Atletico Madrid in Spain.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent weeks with the player himself confirming the contact.

But with the Gunners not involved in next season's Champions League, Soyuncu, like many other players, would prefer a move to a different club.

"My friends who play in Spain tell me it is a fantastic competition," he told BeInSport.

"I watch La Liga games and from what Emre Colak, Enes Unal and Emre Mor have told me, it is a league I would love to play in.

"Atletico Madrid are a really strong team, very well-organised and they have a lot of ambition, a lot of potential.

"They deserved the Europa League title and would be a club I would love to play for."
