Not Lewandowski: Chelsea plotting sensational agreement to sign 145-goal striker who could fire them to Premier League title

By

Chelsea are plotting a sensational swap involving Alvaro Morata and Mauro Icardi according to the Daily Star.

The Argentina man scored 145 goals in his career and was the top scorer in the Serie A this season but failed to make it into Jorge Sampaoli's squad for the World Cup finals.

Icardi could be just what the Blues need to be again Premier League winner.

But it is unlikely the swap deal will go through.

One problem Chelsea will certainly face in their attempt to sign the 25-year-old is the fact that they did not qualify for the Champions League.

Icardi made it clear towards the end of the season that he would have left Internazionale if they fail to qualify for Europe's most prestigious competition.

But with the Nerazzurri clinching a Top Four finish on the very last day of the Serie A, it seems that the future of the striker will be in Milan.
