"He will see out his last 12 months of his contract" - Arsene Wenger reassures fans over midfielder's future

By

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Jack Wilshere will not leave the club this summer.

The Englishman is finally fully fit but did not feature last week against Leicester City.

Sampdoria and Newcastle United have both made an approach to sign him.

But the Frenchman believes the 25-year-old will play a role in his squad this season.

At the moment, yes, [he will stay]," Wenger told reporters.

"I think I plan for him to be here for the whole season, after we will see at the end of the season."

Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth but his loan spell ended abruptly in April after he suffered a serious injury against Tottenham Hotspur.
