Arsenal fans believe this is a sign that £50million-rated star will join the Gunners this summer

By

Some Arsenal fans understand that the Gunners are very close to securing the services of winger Thomas Lemar.

Monaco announced the signing of Rennes striker Adama Diakhaby on a five-year contract on Wednesday night, an indication, according to some, that Lemar is now free to leave the club.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed that he wants to sign the 21-year-old.

The North Londoners placed three official bids for the youngster but all of them were rejected by the French giants.

"We don’t speak about how negotiations go," Wenger said when asked about the player.

"We come out once the deal is done or not done. I can tell you that.

"At the moment there is nothing special to stay on this case.

"We are active on the transfer market in general. I look to strengthen."
