Arsenal in shock move to sign international midfielder from Premier League rivals Chelsea

Arsenal are ready to open talks with Chelsea for the transfer of Nemanja Matic to the Emirates and that of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Stamford Bridge.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that the Gunners are ready to offload the England international in a bid to bring the strong Serbian to the club.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

But the Reds have failed to reach a financial agreement with the North Londoners.

Matic, 28, has been linked with a move to Manchester United but even in this case no financial agreement was reached.

Chelsea are desperate to sign a winger this summer and the 23-year-old would be an asset for manager Antonio Conte.

Arsenal and Chelsea are expected to meet in the coming days the open negotiations.
