"Arsene Wenger has made an approach to sign me" - £70million midfielder reveals Arsenal interest

By

RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita has confirmed that the likes of Arsenal, Southampton, Manchester City and Liverpool have all tried to sign him.

The £70million-rated star has revealed he was approached by a number of English clubs last summer before sealing a £12.75million move from Red Bull Salzburg to Germany.

"Arsenal, Southampton, Manchester City and Liverpool, although I did not talk with the coach," Keita told Welt last summer.

"I hope, however, that I have the level in two, three years and could play for one of the very big clubs.

"This includes Barcelona, but it also includes Real Madrid or Manchester City."

His club are not interested in listening to offers as they consider him one of the best players in Ralph Hasenhuttl's squad.

There is a £48million release clause in his contract but it can only be activated in the summer of 2018.
