Arsenal suffer transfer blow as French striker wanted by Arsene Wenger says he will stay put

By

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has taken to Twitter to deny suggestions that he is set to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Reports on Tuesday have claimed that he is a target for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

And although it is true that the Arsenal boss is an admirer of the 21-year-old, no approach has been made by Arsenal to secure the services of the striker.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal and Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has urged the player to stay at Old Trafford.

"It's been difficult for him [at United]," Silvestre told talkSPORT.

"Arsene [Wenger] could be interested, but United need that type of striker. He should stick around."
