Arsenal open talks to make "absolute workhorse" Arsene Wenger's first summer signing

By

Impressive Schalke 04 left-back Sead Kolasinac could play for Arsenal next season, Metro has revealed.

The strong defender has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and was in the stands for his club's last game of the season against FC Ingolstadt.

His contract with the German giants will expire this summer so he would be able to join the Gunners as a free agent.

The 23-year-old has been described as an "absolute workhorse" by BT Sport's Derek Rae on Twitter.

"If Arsenal are signing Sead Kolasinac, they are getting an absolute workhorse. Committed, combative. Arguably Schalke's best this term," he tweeted.

Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs are currently the two regular Arsenal left backs but the Englishman is expected to leave the club after struggling to enjoy regular first-team football this season.
