Arsene Wenger confirms striker Danny Welbeck could start today's game against Liverpool

By

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck could feature in today's afternoon game against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Englishman resumed full training at the end of last year but has only featured once as a regular so far, against Southampton in the FA Cup.

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey and defender Laurent Koscielny are also back in the squad to face Jurgen Klopp's men.

"We have Aaron Ramsey back in the squad," Wenger confirmed.

"He's back in full training. Laurent Koscielny, who we lost at Bayern Munich, is back in full training as well.

"[Mohamed] Elneny has an ankle problem that should be sorted out in three weeks. He got injured at Sutton and will not be available for Saturday's game.

"Olivier Giroud is back in the squad as well.

"He's [Danny Welbeck] in contention. Yes [we've been careful] because he had ups and downs with his response to his knee problem. I followed the advice of our medical staff."
