Arsene Wenger gives Alexis Sanchez fitness update ahead of tomorrow's game against Southampton

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that attacking midfielder Alexis Sanchez could start tomorrow's home game against Southampton on the bench.

The Gunners host Claude Puel's side before Tuesday's tricky away opener in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Chilean arrived back in London late on Thursday night from international duty and is yet to train with the rest of the squad.

"I haven't seen Alexis [Sanchez] and David Ospina because they arrived late last night," Wenger said on Friday morning.

"Everyone looks alright.

"That's a decision [Alexis starting] I have to make because we play on Tuesday night so I will see. I have to make that decision in the next 24 hours.

"[Alex] Iwobi is back in the squad.

"The only one who is not ready is Aaron Ramsey. He is on the a good way, but not completely ready for Southampton or Tuesday."
