Done Deal: Club confirms Arsenal have reached agreement for transfer of "versatile attacking midfielder"

By

Arsenal attacking midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will spend the remainder of the season at MVV Maastricht on loan.

The Nigeria international joined the Gunners during the summer transfer window but it was clear that he was going to be loaned out to gain experience.

Manager Ron Elsen was full of praise for the youngster after the transfer was completed.

"Kelechi is a versatile attacking midfielder with scoring ability and an eye for the final pass," Elsen told the club's official website.

"He is a promising player and Arsenal know that he needs to develop at a senior level. This is possible by enjoying more regular football in a competition and in a competition where it really matters.

"He won the Golden Ball [at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015] and played a key role for his country in the competition in Chile.

"At MVV Maastricht he will have to show what he is capable of and why he was chosen by Arsenal."
