Sporting director speaks out after Bild says Arsenal will sign 20-year-old defender

By

RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has rubbished rumours claiming that Arsenal have made an offer to sign defender Lukas Klostermann.

Bild has claimed that the Gunners have identified the youngster as a potential reinforcement for the defensive department.

But Rangnick says the 20-year-old will not leave the German side this summer and that negotiations to extend his contract will resume after the player returns from international duty.

"For us there is no association [with Arsenal] as has been reported," he told Kicker.

"We will definitely not be selling Lukas.

"I hope we can quickly report execution [of a new contract] after the Olympics."
