World class striker set to turn down Chelsea offer because he wants a transfer to Arsenal

By

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata wants to leave the club to make a move to the English Premier League.

Reports last month claimed that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte made direct contact with the player to convince him to join him at Stamford Bridge.

But according to Metro, the 23-year-old would prefer a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal desperately need to add a new striker if they are to mount a realistic challenge in the English Premier League and the Champions League.

They will host Liverpool in next week's Premier League opener without main striker Olivier Giroud who is yet to return to full fitness after featuring for France at the Euro 2016 Championship.

The Gunners made an official offer to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette but it was rejected by the French giants.
