Arsenal finally announce deal is done as they conclude another summer transfer agreement

By

Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has left the club to join Roma on a season-long loan deal.

The Poland international spent last season on loan with the Giallorossi and will continue at the Stadio Olimpico after a request by coach Luciano Spalletti.

According to reports, there is no option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season in the contract agreed between the two clubs so the 26-year-old will return to the Emirates when the campaign is over.

"I'm very happy," the goalkeeper told Roma's TV channel.

"After a good season last year I had possibility of coming back and I was very happy that the coach wanted me.

"I'm delighted to be back and I hope that we can improve on what we did last season."
