Announcement expected this week: Arsenal to announce new striker signing in the next 48 hours

By

Wissam Ben Yedder will decide whether he wants to join Arsenal or Sevilla in the next 24 hours, according to the Daily Star.

Canal+ journalist Ludo Deroin revealed on Twitter that the striker will announce where he will be playing his football this season in the next 48 hours.

The Gunners have made contact to sign the 25-year-old after Jamie Vardy rejected a move to the Emirates and Lyon rejected an offer for Alexandre Lacazette.

They are strong favourites to sign the Toulouse man who would be delighted to work under manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal will also certainly sign a new defender after it was confirmed that centre back Per Mertesacker will be ruled out for months after undergoing knee surgery this week.

So far, the Gunners added Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding to their squad with the Japanese expected to be loaned out.
