Arsenal confirm agreement has been reached for transfer of "young and strong" midfielder

By

Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that midfielder Isaac Hayden has left the club to join Newcastle United on a permanent basis.

The 21-year-old has agreed a five-year deal at Newcastle United and has already teamed up with his new teammates at their training camp in Ireland.

Boss Rafa Benitez described the youngster as a "young and strong" midfielder who is hungry to succeed.

"He is also a player who can play in different positions, which is very useful," the Spaniard told the club's official website.

"Isaac is a young, strong English player with fantastic potential but also with some experience already of the Championship. We welcome him to the Club."
