Five-year contract agreed: Arsenal reach agreement for transfer of midfielder

Arsenal and Newcastle United have reached an agreement for the transfer of defender Isaac Hayden, Sky Sports has revealed.

The 21-year-old has never made his official debut for the Gunners and spent last season on loan at Hull City.

In May, the youngster was full of gratitude for the Tigers after his loan spell ended at the end of the season.

"What a journey it's been, full of ups and downs, twists and turns!", he said

"Feel privileged to have been part of this team to to have played in a team of this quality throughout the season.

"I can only say thank you to the fans and the warm welcome and support shown throughout the season. I hope whenever I played I did the short proud.

"Thanks for the memories Hull City, it will always have a place in my heart and you never know what the future may bring."

At Newcastle, the Englishman is expected to sign a five-year contract.
