Arsenal announce another summer signing as international striker joins the club

Arsenal have confirmed that Japanese striker Takuma Asano is the club's second summer signing.

According to the club's official website, the 21-year-old was a target for a number of top European clubs but he decided to join Arsenal to work under Arsene Wenger.

He joins Granit Xhaka who signed from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Wenger was full of praise for the youngster who is yet to undergo a medical with the club.

"Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future," Wenger said.

"He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years."

Asano was a big success for his former club Sanfrecce Hiroshima and was voted as the league's rookie of the year in 2015 in his country.
