Arsenal announce agreement has been reached for transfer of "very talented and creative" midfielder

By

Arsenal have confirmed that midfielder Dan Crowley will join League One side Oxford United on loan for the 2016/17 season.

The 18-year-old is yet to make his official debut for the Gunners and will continue his education at the Kassam Stadium.

The youngster said: "Seeing how young players flourish under the manager Michael Appleton was a massive part in my decision.

"Last season was a learning curve and I can't wait to get started."

Oxford boss Michael Appleton added: "He is a really talented player, very creative and good on the ball.

"He sees a pass and an opportunity very quickly and can play just behind the striker, in midfield or coming in off the flanks so he offers us plenty of options."
