Granit Xhaka sends message to the Arsenal fans after taking a tour of the Emirates

By

Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka says he is "so happy" to finally become an Arsenal player.

The 23-year-old moved to the Emirates after Borussia Monchengladbach agreed to sell him for £33million.

He flew into north London to take a tour of his new home on Tuesday and took to Instagram after his visit to send a message to the Arsenal fans: "I'm so happy to be a Gunner."

He was involved in the Euro 2016 Championship but missed the crucial penalty against Poland as Switzerland crashed out in the Last 16.

But after the game he declared that he will not allow the miss to affect him negatively.

"I took the penalty the way I always do but I didn’t connect properly with the ball," he said.

"I am still a young person, only 23. This just makes me stronger."
