Murphy: This is where Granit Xhaka has to improve if he is to succeed at Arsenal

By

BBC Sport pundit Danny Murphy says new Arsenal signing Granit Xhaka has to improve his defensive abilities ahead of next season's Premier League campaign.

Murphy's comments come days after former Switzerland defender Stephane Henchoz raised concerns over the 23-year-old's leadership in the Swiss national team.

Xhaka has joined the Gunners for a reported £35m on a long-term contract as he became Arsene Wenger's first summer signing.

"I think he looks an Arsenal type player," Murphy said.

"My only concern is his defensive abilities. He's not a super athlete and he's not someone who will get at you and close you down. But from a footballing perspective, he's very good."
