Why this Zinedine Zidane decision at Real Madrid is good news for Arsenal and Manchester United

By

Fabio Coentrao's return to Real Madrid means manager Zinedine Zidane is not interested in making a move for Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez, the International Business Times believes.

The 28-year-old will make a return to Spain after his loan spell with Monaco came to an end this summer.

This means Arsenal and Manchester United are expected to go head-to-head in a £20million race to sign the Switzerland international.

The Gunners are at the moment strong favourites to secure the services of the left-back who wants to enjoy Champions League football next season.

On Wednesday, Rodriguez confirmed that he will take a decision after the Euro 2016 Championship.

"I'm only thinking about the European Championship," he told Sport Bild.

"What will be after that, will be."
