Arsenal close in on yet another signing after sporting director confirms defender will leave club

By

Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez will leave the German club, sporting director Klaus Allofs has confirmed.

The 23-year-old is one of the main targets for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger according to recent reports.

He will leave after spending four years with Wolfsburg.

"We did meet recently and his intention is to leave the club," Allofs told Blick.ch.

Last week, the left-back joked that he would have no problems to settle down at the Emirates after the Gunners signed Switzerland team-mate Granit Xhaka.

"That [joining Arsenal] would be exciting, yes, especially because the room arrangement at Arsenal would be fixed as well," he said.
