Arsenal expected to announce the transfer of £30million Liverpool target in the next 48 hours

By

Arsenal are expected to officially announce the signing of Granit Xhaka in the next 48 hours according to reports in Italy and England.

The 23-year-old already underwent a medical at the club and was seen taking photos with the new jersey.

He is expected to join for £30million to become Arsene Wenger's first summer signing.

Meanwhile, German football expert Lee Price says the Switzerland international was also a target for Liverpool.

"He [Jurgen Klopp] may well return to Munich for Gotze's team mate Pierre Hojbjerg, who has announced that he will leave the Allianz this summer," Lee is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

"Hojbjerg has spent the last two seasons out on loan, and would relish the opportunity to be developed by Klopp, conceding that he isn't Champions League ready yet.

"That will be a key factor after Liverpool lost out to Arsenal for Monchengladbach playmaker Granit Xhaka, who preferred to play in Europe's elite competition."
