Arsenal emerge as SURPRISE leaders for Manchester United midfielder

Arsenal are the favourites to sign Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick, Express Sport has revealed.

The 34-year-old will be available on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners will lose three over-30s in midfield this summer - Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini - and boss Arsene Wenger is eager to replace them with the experience of the Englishman.

Carrick played more than 250 games for the Red Devils since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2016.
