Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger ready to spend big to seal transfer of experienced defender


Arsenal are ready to offer £20million to secure the services of Swansea City defender Ashley Williams, according to Express Sport.

The Gunners' defence was one of the best in the Premier League this season, conceding only 36 goals in 38 games, but boss Arsene Wenger wants more from his defensive department.

The 32-year-old would add plenty of experience to the Arsenal defence which already includes German veteran Per Mertesacker and French international Laurent Koscielny.
