Karim Benzema blasts "clowns" to put end to Arsenal transfer talk

By

Arsenal's hopes of signing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema have been dealt a huge blow after the player took to Twitter to rubbish speculation suggesting he wanted to leave to join Arsenal.

The Gunners were reportedly keen on securing the services of the Frenchman.

According to recent reports, manager Arsene Wenger was ready to offer £50m for the 27-year-old.

But the player himself has confirmed that he will be a Real Madrid player this season.

"For all those clowns who want to make believe things at my fans," Benzema wrote on Twitter.

"Here [Real Madrid], this is my home."
