"Arsenal close to signing that would make them genuine contenders"

BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey says Arsenal are close to signing a player that will make them "genuine" title contenders.

The Gunners suffered a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against West Ham United on Sunday despite having 62% of possession and 22 shots.

Some recent reports have claimed that they are determined to bring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to the Emirates although Humphrey opted not to reveal the name of the player who is supposed to sign.

He wrote on Twitter:

A source who is rarely wrong tells me Arsenal are close to the signing that would make them genuine contenders. We shall see...
