Bayern Munich sporting director wants Arsenal and Manchester United target to stay

By

Bayern Munich sporting director Mattias Sammer says Mario Gotze will not leave the club this summer.

Manchester United and Arsenal have been accredited with a strong interest in the player with both clubs ready to make an offer to secure his services.

But Sammer expects the 23-year-old to honour his contract with the German club.

"Mario has a contract for another two years," Sammer is quoted as saying by Goal.

"He knows the situation here.

"I expect him to push through and to show the will to push through here. He wants that. Do not forget he still is a very young player.

"We have a big squad with great quality, it is normal to have thoughts."
