Arsenal ready to offer £35m to sign Manchester United striker target

By

Arsenal are set to launch an audacious £35 million swoop for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski, the Telegraph has revealed.

The Poland international has emerged as a possible target for the Gunners and Manchester United after Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani all confirmed that they will stay with their respective clubs.

The former Borussia Dortmund hitman scored 25 goals in 49 games in all competitions last season and has a market transfer value of £35m.

The German giants are expected to reject the bid but both clubs have huge cash reserves to make an improved offer before the end of the summer transfer window.
