Ray Parlour: The two strikers who would fit into the Arsenal structure

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says Karim Benzema or Edinson Cavani would be perfect signings for the club.

Arsenal fans are still waiting for another big-name transfer after the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.

A central defender and a world class striker is what the Gunners need according to many with reports claiming that boss Arsene Wenger has already made contract to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

"[Karim] Benzema would be a great signing for Arsenal," Parlour told the First Post.

"The fans will be very excited to have him in the squad.

"[Edinson] Cavani is another person who has been linked to come in and he has great experience with the national side and the teams he's been with.

"That's the kind of quality we need to look at now. If they are available, who knows, something could happen now, that could be brilliant.

"I am sure Wenger knows about the inevitable players in the market and he knows that he could get them — maybe they are the ones he goes for."
