Atletico Madrid join Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool in Aymen Abdennour race

By

Atletico Madrid have joined Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to sign Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour.

According to Footmercato, the Spanish giants are ready to offer £11.5m to sign the 25-year-old with a five-year contract to be offered to the player.

Last week, Abdennour's agent confirmed that his client received offers from the Premier League and the Spanish Liga.

"Abdennour is one of the best defenders in Europe so it's normal that he is a wanted player," Jilani told Calciomercato.com.

"We received offers from England and Spain. In Italy there was just contact, no official offers.

"Abdennour would love to play in Italy, it would be a dream come true. I mean, what player wouldn't want to play in Italy?

"But he's under contract [until 2019] so if a club wants to sign the player, then they have to make contact with Monaco.

"A move to Italy is a possibility, but there must be an important offer."
