Arsenal to beat Manchester United to signing of 18-year-old starlet

Arsenal have taken midfielder Amine Harit on trial ahead of a deal to sign him from Nantes, according to Metro.

The 18-year-old signed a new contract with Nantes two months ago but continues to be a target for the Gunners and Manchester United.

Last month, the youngster told French publication Foot Mercato that a number of English, Italian and Belgian clubs were monitoring his progress but that his desire is to continue at Nantes.

"Regarding my future? I am aware that English clubs, Italian and Belgian are interested in me. But for now, I do not want to pay attention," he said.

"My club is FC Nantes and they have my priority.

"Since I've been with Nantes, I feel fine, I feel I have really progressed."
