Arsenal legend: I would love to see Chelsea striker target at Arsenal

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke would be a perfect signing for boss Arsene Wenger.

The Belgium international is a target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool according to reports and is determined to leave Villa Park to feature in next season's Champions League.

The 24-year-old has a £32m buy-out clause that only Chelsea are ready to meet according to Sky Sports.

"He is powerful, strong, robust and good in the air, which is something that would enhance Arsenal's attacking options," Parlour is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

"I would love to see him at Arsenal, I really would.

"Sherwood has done well to get the best out of Benteke.

"At the time he came in he couldn't score a goal, he wasn't even getting close to scoring a goal.

"It will be interesting to see what he does because he might be excited about Tim Sherwood next year."
