Ray Parlour: Manchester City target will have key role next season for Arsenal

By

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says midfielder Jack Wilshere will not leave the club in the summer and will be a key member of Arsene Wenger's squad next season.

The Englishman continues to be heavily linked with the Citizens but the 42-year-old is convinced that any offers will be rejected by the player.

Wilshere spent most of last season on the sidelines but is now back to full fitness and was one of the best players for England in their 2-3 win away at Slovenia.

"It's a massive season for Jack Wilshere," Parlour told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.

"He needs to stay injury free, that's the most important thing.

"We know how much ability he's got but he needs to stay fit. You can see the potential he's got.

"I think he'll be an Arsenal player next year, he loves the club. I'm expecting him to have a key role next season for Arsenal."
