Arsenal to beat Chelsea to the signing of Liverpool target Edin Dzeko

By

Arsenal could be about to land Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, the Daily Star reports.

The 29-year-old failed to make an impact in Manuel Pellegrini's side last season and is rumoured to be ready to assess offers during the summer transfer window.

Last week, agent Irfan Redzepagic revealed that the Bosnian is determined to stay and fight for a regular place at Manchester City.

"There are no comments to made," Redzepagic told Italian website ForzaRoma.info.

"Every day Edin is linked to a different club, first it was Atletico Madrid then Juventus and then Roma.

"He signed a contract with Manchester City and he is happy at the club.

"All that was written in recent days are just rumours ahead of the summer transfer window.

"I was never approached by other clubs [to discuss a move] and he wants to respect the contract he has with Manchester City."
