Arsenal to sign Monaco midfielder as they release seven players including Abou Diaby

By

Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is free to find another club after he was released by the North London club.

The injury-plagued midfielder suffered more than 40 injuries during his spell at Arsenal and never managed to make a significant impact in Arsene Wenger's squad.

Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Jack Jebb, Austin Lipman, Ryo Miyaichi, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, Josh Vickers were also released by the club.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are expected to make a final move for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, Metro reports.

The 22-year-old is also a target for Italian side Milan with the Rossoneri ready to make a £20m offer for the player.

But with no European football next season at Milan, it is unlikely that the Frenchman will turn down the offer to join Arsene Wenger in the Premier League.
