23-year-old Kenyan midfielder: It would be nice to move to Arsenal

By

Southampton midfielder Victor Mugubi Wanyama has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has a contract until June 2017 with the Saints and has a market value of £15m.

"It would be nice to move to Arsenal," he is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.

"But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is."

The Kenyan was already a target for boss Arsene Wenger in the summer of 2013 but he opted for Southampton instead.

"It feels great and I am happy to be here," Wanyama said after signing for Southampton.

"There were other options, but Southampton is a club with ambitions so I chose to come here.

"Southampton is a good club and it has good players, so I just want to train hard and work hard to be a part of the starting eleven. We'll see where that will take me.

"I'm very grateful to be here and I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League."
