Arsenal to make final bid for £25m French midfielder

Arsenal are reportedly set to make a fresh move for midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to reports in Italy.

Boss Arsene Wenger was determined to sign Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin to strengthen the midfield but the 25-year-old is expected to be Louis van Gaal's second summer signing at Manchester United.

The Monaco man is available on the market for £25.7m and is wanted by a number of top European clubs according to his agent.

"We're being approached by big clubs. They are big names," Jonathan Mareek told TF1.

"We will have the lucidity to make the right choice. We won't go and sit on a bench."
