Arsenal on alert for £5m Ghanaian left-back

By

Arsenal are ready to improve their defensive department with a move for Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp, Express Sport reports.

The 22-year-old was one of the key players for the Foxes this season, winning the Young Player of the Year as well as the Players' Player of the Year award.

The youngster would give boss Arsene Wenger more options on the defensive wings with the Frenchman also set to recall Carl Jenkinson from his loan spell from West Ham United.

Meanwhile, the 65-year-old insists that he will only focus on new signings after Saturday's FA Cup final against Aston Villa.

"You can suspect that at the moment I'm not in a transfer mode," he said on Wednesday morning.

"We'll deal with transfers after the FA Cup final. It's all suspicions, nobody knows if its true or not."
