Porto agree to deal with Arsenal for Colombian striker

By

Porto and Arsenal are ready to negotiate the transfer of Jackson Martinez according to Jordal do Noticias.

Just like last summer, the Gunners are ready to spend big in order to fight for the Premier League crown and Champions League next season and will offer £25m for the 28-year-old

In the last three seasons Arsenal have never managed to score more than 75 goals in the domestic league and are determined to improve in the offensive department by adding more firepower.

Asked about his plans ahead of the summer transfer window, boss Arsene Wenger said on Sunday: "We hope that everyone comes back from international duty in good shape.

"We have to start strong and we can prepare for that well now because we have no qualifier for the Champions League. We’ll see if we can do something to strengthen the team after."

Milan, Roma, Napoli and Juventus in Italy are reported to also be interested in the strong striker who would however prefer a move to the English Premier League.
