Arsene Wenger confirms Sanchez and Koscielny will not feature against Galatasaray

By

Arsene Wenger confirms defender Laurent Koscielny and midfielder Alexis Sanchez will not feature against Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

Arsenal face the Turks knowing that a win will probably not be enough to win the group and the Frenchman will rest key players ahead of the weekend game against Newcastle in the Premier League.

"A few players [will not travel] because there's not a lot at stake," Wenger told the club's official website.

"We have given a lot in the last two weeks, we have to recover a little bit.

"Alexis [Sanchez] will not travel and I don't think I can play, for example, [Laurent] Koscielny.

"He didn't play on Saturday and I don't see why I should risk him for a game where's there's not a lot at stake.

"First place hypothetically, but there's maybe a 10 per cent chance."
