Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says that Olivier Giroud's early comeback is all down to the player's positive attitude.
The Frenchman was expected to be sidelined until the end of the year after suffering a serious leg injury in August's 2-2 draw at Everton but is expected to be on the bench for tomorrow's home game against Manchester United.
"We've had many draws. There's no block there," Wenger said on Friday.
"We feel strong at home and we have had a good record in the last 25 games. We lost [Mathieu] Debuchy and [Laurent] Koscielny in defence but we are one of the top two teams at winning the ball back.
"He's [Olivier Giroud] ahead of schedule by at least three weeks. We planned for him to be back in January.
"He's not there yet on the competition front but he's in decent physical shape. He's a bit short [of fitness] but he worked very hard to be back early and it worked.
"The surgery went well, he had no setbacks during his rehab and he's got a naturally solid structure. He is very solid and heals very well. He also has a positive mentality. He's always positive and that helps as well."
Asked about the fitness level of the players involved with their respective national teams, Wenger said: "We still have some problems.
"I haven't seen Alexis Sanchez yet because he landed on [Thursday] afternoon.
"We have to check him this morning and Danny Welbeck also had a little hamstring problem. We have lots of people to check.
"Theo could not practice yesterday. It is a little tight groin. I don't think he will be available."
