Agreement reached and contract signed: Manchester United snap up "creative midfielder and versatile player"

By

Manchester United have announced on their official website that midfielder Dion McGhee has become the latest youngster to join the professional ranks at Old Trafford.

The 17-year-old has described himself as "a creative midfielder and versatile player who can play in many positions".

He follows Brandon Williams, Ethan Galbraith and James Garner who all signed their first professional contract with the club.

"It's a proud moment for me and my family," Dion told MUTV.

"I'm really happy to get the contract signed. I've worked hard and listened to my coaches, listening to the advice and just enjoying what I do.

"My family and my coaches have helped me kick on and improved me as a person. [United have] the best facilities in the country. What a place and what a club Manchester United is.

"This [signing a first professional contract] is just a confidence-booster for next season.

"I've already got my goals and targets, now it's just [about] pushing on and keep achieving. It's time to relax a bit now but I'll come back hungrier than ever and ready to go next season."
