Chelsea could lose one of their players to Arsenal after Gunners make approach to sign defender

By

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan at Newcastle United.

His spell with the Blues came to an abrupt end last summer after he was sent home during the team’s tour of the far east after posting messages to Snapchat insulting their host country of China.

Meanwhile, the player says he would be delighted to continue at Newcastle United after a very positive spell with the club.

"This new phase [of my career] in Newcastle’s shirt makes me very happy," he said.

"It is very difficult for a player to stay out of action for a long time [as has happened at Chelsea], even more difficult to get back into the rhythm of the Premier League."

"If it's [a permanent Newcastle transfer] good for everyone, it would be a pleasure to continue wearing the shirt of this great team."
