"He is about to agree with Arsenal" - Club president confirms central defender is about to join the Gunners

By

Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan has revealed that Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu is all set to join Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old could be the club's first summer signing.

"Caglar Soyuncu is about to agree with Arsenal," Ozkan is quoted as saying by Sport Witness.

"Arsenal asked us for information about youth development."

The youngster impressed in the Bundesliga this campaign and is now ready to embark on a new experience.

"[My future?] For me, it must be a team where I can play first," he told Ajansspor.

"We will evaluate my chances of playing.

"It's best to wait. The English league is a very good league.

"Of course I have a goal to play in top clubs.

"Freiburg is the first step. It has been very good for two years [and] I had to improve. I have gained more experience but still have shortcomings.

"A decision will be made in the interests of all of us."
